Very highly recommended – one of the best books I read this year. Being familiar with Steve Rinella through his TV show and podcast, I thought I knew what I was in for with this book. I knew he had won a lottery to hunt a buffalo and that this book would be the story of that hunt, entwined with the story of the history of buffalo in North America. I anticipated enjoying it, especially the history bits. I expected, as a non-hunter, to be less than fully engaged in the hunting parts of the story. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I found the whole thing absolutely riveting. Funny, poetic, and exciting. Very highly recommended – one of the best books I read this year.Buffalo Hunter The author relates his own experiences as a hunter.Starting in childhood, he learns the way of forest and field. In his journey, he comes upon the skull of a buffalo, and is bitten by the bug to know. Know , observe, learn, and kill a buffalo. The journey is treacherous, and filled with the hardest test of a hunter. Surviving the cold, avoiding bears, skinning the carcass, and carrying hundreds of pounds of meat out. It’s very graphic, and I wonder why do all this. Why take these risks? Why? It is to know the buffalo.If you like Rinella's podcasts, then you'll like this book I've always felt a intuitive connection to the buffalo as a plains-state immigrant on the East coast. Rinella provides a provocative and deeply researched explanation of why. The buffalo have captured the attention and imagination of North Americans across innumerable generations.If you like Rinella's podcasts, then you'll find a comforting familiarity in his narration in this book. He effectively breaks the main narrative (his hunt of a buffalo) with historical, technical, personal, and otherwise delightfully esoteric digressions.Great for a quick weekend read.

Good guide I was expecting more, but it will definitely help you to prepare and pass the test... Some questions were never mentioned in main section of the book and only present in Quick Summary (i.e. Receive Filter Bandwidths, hint: memorize them).This book focuses on the correct answers, rather than all POSSIBLE answers. This book gives you all the right answers, unlike most books that give you all the possible answers. My 16 year old passed his Technician test on the first try after about a week and a half with this book. I wish this book was around when I first got my ham license!This book gets it done I started taking practice tests without any other prep and was routinely scoring around 20-21 right based on my experience with electronics. This book tipped me over the scales to scoring around 30-34 immediately after. Much more approachable for reading than technical reference, the narrative style is really easy reading. I went and took the test and passed on my first go which is what all I was interested in. Had to do this to get legal with UAS control and VTx units, so all the peripheral stuff about long range , repeaters, clubs etc really wasn't important for me. If it was, I'd be looking for more technical references than this that get into the "Whys". This book exists solely to help you pass the test, and that's what it does, very well. Good purchase for me.

Those behind the Witch Hunt have either been fired or resigned.  Many of them are now under investigation for abuse of power. But what about the pundits who concocted wild narratives in real time on television, or the newspapers which covered the fact that rumors were being investigated without investigating the facts themselves?

Factual, highly persuasive, and damning, this must-read expose makes clear that not only was there no “collusion,” but there was not even a basis for Mueller’s investigation of the charge that has attacked Trump and his administration for more than two years. It’s always been a Witch Hunt.

~~Factual book which speaks to the Witch Hunt being Contrived/Concocted~~ This book was pre-ordered in June of 2019 and yesterday I went back and read the blurb for it. In addition to the bureaucratic politicization of our justice system, one thing that piqued my interest then...and now, was the 'pundits'. What about them? They 'concocted wild narratives in real time on TV, or the newspapers. The author takes these issues up in his book and provides factual information to back up these points.As for myself, I stopped watching news on the television over a year ago. My problem with it was that portions were omitted in some broadcasts. Sometimes, as you know, just the omission of a single word or two can change the context of the situation. So, I chose to select and read books which I thought would be based on facts and not biased.. I am getting older (am in my 70's now) and have lived through a lot of US crises during my life. Now, there is so much to be done and the fighting goes on...and on..Chapter 4 covers 'The Attempted Coup' and has a lot of information on Andrew McCabe *Former Acting FBI Director) and Rob Rosenstein (Acting AG). The author states that there was an abuse of their power and the discussion about wearing of a wiretap is covered.. The 25th Amendment is brought to light once again. Amazing chapter to read.Of particular interest to me was the one titled 'Media Witch Hunt'. The information starts with David J. Kramer (McCain Institute) and Sir Andrew Wood from the UK. An explanation of how the 'dossier' was first placed into the Media. And, Buzz Feed is also mentioned as that organization was the one that posted 35 pages online. That, as we know, was the beginning...The names we are familiar with including Paul Manafort, Gen Michael Flynn, Richard Gates (and more people) are covered in great depth. Some of the details I had forgotten but this author refreshed my memory.A glimmer of hope is offered in the Afterword in that quotes from Attorney General Barr offered some insight. He cautioned that 'government abuse of power is equally as dangerous as foreign interference'. AG Barr has assigned John Durham, a top prosecutor in Connecticut, to examine the origins of the Russia Investigation. Whether or not the people that broke the laws will be held accountable is not certain.So, yes this book is factual and backed up with footnotes. As the author states there is no collusion, and no reason for Mueller's investigation. Contrived and concocted ....yes, indeed! A most interesting read for me.Most highly recommended.Must Read! This book is a must read! Talk about abuse of power! Not Mr. Trump, but Washington DC! Just goes to show how bad the "swamp" really is!Excellent! Simply fact based and an excellent read...just as good as his first!

A Behind the Scenes Look - A Lot of Personal Stories From People Who Know Him I thought this book was going to be a real drab, but I was surprised to find it was a real fascinating read. One of the things that made it so interesting is all of the insightful stories from the people the author interviewed for the book; people who worked for and with Pence, family, friends, Democrats, Republicans, people in radio, and so on. I was glad it wasn't held up by political garb and his views, but really about how his views were formed by his faith, which was instilled in him as a kid and developed over the years. I was surprised to find that Pence wasn't the ogre the media presents him to be. At the same time the author doesn't try to make him sound like he's an angel and talks about how he's made mistakes, but also how he's tried to rectify those mistakes. My favorite part of the book was about the Pence's marriage; how they met and formed their relationship and how it developed over the years. It really clarified why they have the closeness they have now; they have been an interictal part of each other's lives from the beginning of their relationship. I don't think It really matters where you stand politically. Funny! Beautifully written book by a beautiful woman. Fiercely honest and sad at times. Highly recommend for a beach day or flight!Honest writing and unforgettable read. I started reading this book and I couldn't put it down. Tiffany's story is unimaginable and she has emerged able to conquer the world. I laughed, I cried, I cried while I was laughing. It is well worth the read.This isn`t meant to be a book written by a College English Professor. It`s meant to be more relate-able. I fell in love with Tiffany Haddish after seeing her do an interview on Trevor Noah`s Daily News show. Her personality and sense of humor is just amazing and pulls you in. So when she started giving stories from her book about dating and religion and just life in general I definitely felt like I had to read.Her writing style isn`t your conventional Shakespeare style, I`ve earned my Doctorate in Creative Writing sort of read. It`s very easy to read and very down to earth. It`s like she could be standing right next to you telling you this story as though you were best friends sharing laughs, tears and life. Some parts are particularly heavy because her life was far from being rainbows and unicorns (though she is the Last Black Unicorn), but she tells it in a way that reminds be of my own mother. Even when they are talking through their most painful moments they still find a way to help you Laugh at their Pain and your own so that you don`t walk away feeling worse about any of it but instead feeling stronger and refreshed.I really enjoyed this book and was sad when it ended but was happy to have gotten a look into Tiffany Haddish insane but relate-able world.I look forward to seeing her succeed.
